ELECTROPOLISHING

Electropolishing is the electrochemical process of removing surface irregularities from metal to produce a smooth, bright surface. This reduces the adhesion properties of the material, allowing it to remain extremely clean during process flow. It also improves corrosion resistance as the surface is chromium enriched from the process.

Electropolished tubing is frequently required in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries where purity is of the utmost importance. Interior surfaces can be provided in 20µ-in Ra, 15µ-in Ra, and 10µ-in Ra. Tubing is typically cleaned with deionized water, dried, capped, and
bagged to maintain the cleanliness of the tubing until it is ready for installation.
